Job Description


Is responsible for initiating, performing and coordinating the clerical and secretarial functions of the Legal Department and providing assistance to General Counsel on administrative matters. Work 4 hours daily Monday -Friday (anytime between 8 AM and 4 PM). Will have contacts with company managers and attorneys as needed.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • •Performs typing and general administrative duties and prepares spreadsheets as required.
  • •Drafts and assembles statistical, narrative or other reports as requested. May independently prepare correspondence and recurring reports for General Counsel or Attorney signature.
  • •Maintains Legal Department files for matters in progress and arranges for the delivery of completed transaction files to Records. Orders loan files and documents as needed by Legal.
  • •Maintain files related to executed subservicing agreements and other contractual relationships. Arranges distribution of client corporate signature resolutions to affected departments.
  • •Assists in the collection of data and materials for responses to client or regulatory audit requests.
  • •Receives and screens office vistors and telephone calls. Receives, classifies and routes incoming mail. Arranges for out-bound mail and express packages. Monitors and reports attendance.
  • •Arranges for meeting and conferences.
  • •Assists in the preparation and delivery of regulatory reports.
  • •Coordinates office functions with other departments.
  • •Perform such other responsibilities and duties assigned by General Counsel or Attorneys.

Job Requirements

Job requirements:

  • High school diploma required, some college, paralegal or secretarial training preferred
  • One to three years experience in general secretarial position in legal or financial environment
  • Ability to deal effectively with clients, customers, outside counsel and other Company personnel; familiarity with legal documentation and protocols
  • Thorough knowledge of general office practices; excellent Word and Excel spreadsheet skills; mature judgment and ability to deal with difficult situations and deadlines; attention to detail
