Job Description


The Dovnenmuehle Claims Department is responsible for filing claims for mortgage insurance and advance reimbursement for loans that have completed foreclosure sale. Claims are filed with FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and all major PMI companies. The Department handles property preservation and maintenance to comply with all investor requirements and local building codes. The Department also offers REO marketing and management as an optional client service.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • •Monitor daily activities of each employee within their defined areas; supervisor 10+ Claims Specialists
  • •Responsible for the daily contact and correspondence with investors and governing agencies
  • •Ensure that all claims are calculated and completed within FHA, VA guidelines, investor regulations and state laws
  • •Research discrepancies on foreclosed loans after the claim settlements have been applied
  • •Conduct a review/audit of all claims filed within defined area in the department to ensure compliance
  • •Monitor LPS/ Black Knight reports, task tracking, and exception reports to ensure accurate servicing of all loans within defined area
  • •Provide timely responses to all internal and external audits, compliance reviews and escalated issues
  • •Provide client updates and reports when necessary
  • •Handle 'special loans' assigned to supervisor’s area
  • •Provide monthly summaries to management highlighting accomplishments, performance standards and measurements, status of open items, and staffing requirements
  • •Recommend and implement process improvement strategies
  • •Interview hire, train, and mentor new employees within defined area
  • •Monitor, evaluate, and track employee performance against standards. Coach, counsel, and coordinate corrective action, when applicable
  • •Prepare and administer annual performance evaluations for all employees
  • •Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure open communication
  • •Reports directly to the assistant manager and is responsible for providing the assistant manager with daily and monthly reports. The supervisor should also aid the assistant manager in special projects.
  • Performs all other responsibilities and duties deemed necessary by department managers

Job Requirements

Job requirements:

  • Knowledge of mortgage default compliance regulations; foreclosure, bankruptcy & loss mitigation knowledge
  • PC skills; Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); LPS /Black Knight system
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; time management skills; professional demeanor and leadership qualities; good figure aptitude
  • Maintain a professional attitude and atmosphere within the department
