Job Description



Summary:

The Default Lit Correspondence Specialist will provide legal support in the Default Litigation Department regarding customer complaints, governmental inquiries, attorney requests, and client issues. CONTACTS as follows: INTERNAL: Default Litigation Department, various other departments within the company, Supervisors and Managers who oversee departments within the company, Legal Department. EXTERNAL: Attorneys, Vendors, Governing Agencies, Investors and Clients



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assign out all correspondences for the department, including letters received from borrowers, clients, government agencies, and other departments within the Company.
  • Scan, name, and close out all completed correspondences.
  • Spot check completed correspondences to ensure the checklist, letter, complaint, acknowledgment and backup is present.
  • Maintain a spreadsheet of correspondence received for in order to complete the monthly report.
  • Complete and audit routine correspondence responses.
  • Assist in the preparation and research of complicated customer complaints, governmental inquires and other escalated matters.
  • Perform such other responsibilities and duties assigned by Assistant Manager and Manager of the Default Litigation Department.

Job Requirements



Job requirements:

  • 1 - 3 years in law office or corporate legal department or mortgage servicing company with concentration in foreclosures, bankruptcy and real estate practice.
  • College degree and/or paralegal certification preferred.
  • Experience in a legal environment dealing with foreclosure and bankruptcy pleadings. Experience with LPS, Fidelty systems, and Microsoft Office
  • Superior interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills; proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet programs; excellent written and oral communication skills; willingness to work overtime as needs dictate.
